Getting Started

Private Pay Only and Select Insurances
We believe the benefits of private pay can be better than using your health insurance. Real World Counseling participates with a select number of insurance carriers. Involvement with health insurance carriers means someone outside yourself and therapist has control over how many sessions you can have, and what diagnosis or situations you can discuss in order to be covered. They also have access to your clinical notes and diagnosis information at any time they request. We prefer to keep your information confidential by working on a private pay basis.

However, if you wish to submit your invoice to your insurance carrier for reimbursement to yourself, we will provide you with the information needed to complete your claim. Our credentials do qualify us for the type of work you will be requesting reimbursement for.

Questions to Ask Your Insurance Company
To be sure you understand your coverages, Clients should call their insurance company and ask the following questions:

  • Do I have Mental Health benefits? Or, in the case of alcohol or substance abuse outpatient clients, "Do I have Substance Abuse benefits?"

  • How much is my co-pay?

  • How much is my deductible? How much of my deductible has been met?

  • How many sessions per calendar year am I entitled to?

  • How many sessions have already been met?

  • How much do you pay for an out-of-network provider?

  • Is there a limit on how much you will pay per session?

  • Is a Primary Care Physician or Psychiatrist approval/referral needed?

Answers to these questions will help you determine what your financial investment will be.

We're here to help you unlock problems and make things better. When you reach out to us we'll gather information about your situation, then schedule an appointment. You will be provided forms to complete in advance of the first session and directions to the office.
